Near miss.

This Saturday was the second UO group ride. It was pretty quiet and social, which made it prime for Stop Ahead sneak-attacks. I rolled upnext go Galen and said, “I’m going to beat Will.” Galen cranked it up and we went flying past Will. My victory was certain now. I jumped from Galen’s wheel. My left foot came out of the pedal. I crazily swearve and skid, tripoding on my carbon soled shoe. Amazingly, I stay upright, rather than slide uncomfortably to a stop on the pavement. Not crashing = awesome.

My cleat had exploded on impact with the ground. People behind saw the pieces fly. I could still kind of clip in and made it home okay. I got some new cleats, needless to say.

The Sunday ride was awesome. David led us over thr epic Weyerhauser road and onto some super smooth and fast roads before destroying everyone on Dillard.

This post was written on my iPod. Woo!

Not dead!

I know I haven’t updated in a while… sorry. I’ve been busy. I hope to update more frequently.

Some recent things:

Yesterday was the introductory meeting for the UO Cycling team. Thirty-one people showed up. One hour and some paperwork later, I hope I did a pretty good job.

I’m going to start training soon. Yeah! Today I did a 22:50 up Fox Hollow, 302W avg.

My iPod Touch is amazing. I installed Fring (which allows me to connect to Skype) and bought a headset. Now I can make cheap SkypeOut calls! Sweet! (no PT yet.)

I’m working on uocycling.com. I got Google AdSense set up, and we’ve made a staggering $0.02 so far.

Anyway, I should get back to Organic Chemistry Lab homework.
Differential Equations isn’t too bad and Linear Algebra is… kind of funny. I like Organic Chemistry Lecture too. Yay school. Boo 8am class everyday.

I’m trying to do some freelance photography for the Daily Emerald. I haven’t gotten an assignment yet. Soon! I posted some sample work on SmugMug, if anybody’s curious.

Go Ducks!

P.S. I get to be race promoter too! March 21st, University of Oregon Road Race and Team Time Trial! Yeah! (Collegiate only)
